I just upgraded from a 6nm belt drive base and wheel that I’ve had for 6 years. I’m very happy with the difference. After an initial 2 weeks, the quality of build seems very good. The only thing I have noticed is that the FX Pro under heavy cornering can make a cracking sound at the bottom of the grips. Other than that, the wheel is amazing and it doesn’t affect functionality at all. The ability to assign colours and functions to each button is fantastic. The customized stickers are great too although I’d like to see more doubles of the mainly used features like ABS, MAPPING, RADIO, +, -, UP, DOWN etc so every button or switch could be easily renamed. Something to cover the labels like “ABS” on the rotary knob for example if you wanted to use that for something else.
As for the base it’s a huge upgrade to what I was using and I’m still working on fine tuning it. The great thing is that it can be endlessly fine tuned and you can feel the difference instantly on most settings. It gets better every day that I tweak it. The LED ring on the shaft is cool but mostly useless as it can’t be seen behind the wheel when you’re driving but I don’t really care about that.
Overall I’m extremely happy and plan to upgrade with additional wheel rims once I get settled with my new setup. The Simagic ecosystem seems fantastic and the value for money is outstanding.
